- Every time you program a lock, audit data from that lock is automatically downloaded to the HHD.
- Plugging the HHD into a lock without programming a lock. This is much faster. Just plug in the HHD and let the locks do the rest. You will see a message telling you the HHD is downloading the audit data.
After you have collected the data, it needs to be downloaded onto the computer.
- Plug the HHD into the computer. (Does the utility program need to be openeds??)
- Open Schlage SMS Express. Make sure you open the correct facility file.
- Allow the HHD to sync the files to the computer using Windows Mobile Device Utility.
- Close Schlage SMS Express. This will force the file to be backed up and saved.

- Do not open the "Reports" folder. If you do, the folder will appear empty. You must do one more step first.
- Notice how the Reports folder is faded? Click "Compatability files" on the bar near the top of the pane. The window will then change in appearance.

- First, make sure you are in the correct facility ("Valley Rooms") and not "Office Doors." We have no need at this time to collect audits from that facility.
- Click on the "Users" button. The first user listed should be "1159." Also, when you produce the report, the first room should be 1159.
- Click on Audits. When you click on this menu option, it will create the reports. Sometimes, this can take a long time (10+ minutes). Just let the computer process it.
- Select Audits by Door/Date, which will bring up a new window that will have many pages of data.
- Scroll through the list of rooms to find the desired room.

- Now click on the Reports folder. It will look something like this.
- Open a 2nd Explorer window and find your flash drive. Create a new folder on your flash drive that says "Reports current date" Example: Reports 3-26-18
- Select the first file that says "Access by Door". Then, while holding down the "Ctrl" button, scroll down until you find the last file labeled Access by Door and click it. This should select all of the files.
- Drag all of those files into the folder you just created on your flash drive.
- Eject the flash drive from the computer.
- Connect the flash drive to a networked computer. Open the Shared Drive. You will drag the folder from your flash drive to the shared drive.
- Save the folder at Shared Drive<LEAD<Circulation<Rooms<Research Room Audits.
Losing Audit Data
Unfortunately, it is very easy to lose audit data. Especially if you transfer the Schlage SMS Express software from one computer to another.
