Be sure to check out the Current Projects page.
They are the best place to get big picture of the ongoing project planning within the library and regular updates.
We have several large projects which have their individual pages to refer to. There is also a smaller project 'Project Summary' page that is a rolling update of current and pending projects.

A calendar and inbox is available for special event and space requests. The email is library.spaces@oregonstate.edu mailto:library.spaces@oregonstate.edu. It is a great place to check the calendar if you want to know what is going on in the library lobby, the library quad, rotunda, you can check there for the schedule and information about the event.
Special requests sent to this inbox are reviewed by Megan, Lucinda, or myself as needed.

In Fall 2021 the library administration department met with the Library Spaces Unit. The unit moved up into administration not long before the onset of the pandemic and the transition had not been fully realized. The Fall 2021 conversation was a kick off for addressing this gap and brought forth four principles to guide creating a defined purpose within the library organization.
Through the winter our unit updated the workplan and the following framework was created.…
How to use your phone

Hi everyone!
Maybe it's just me, but I find my phone terribly complicated. I never know which button to push to redial or put it on speaker. Sometimes I need to reset my voice mail greeting, but can't remember how. I don't think I'm alone here. Over the past couple months I have been working to compile a list of quick reference guides and manuals for the various phones in the building as well as voice mail instructions. This collection is ready for its debut!…

Quick Update!
It is the start of winter term! Happy 2022!
Over Break
Over break, the spaces unit and crew spent time resetting furniture throughout the building. Also, ABM did some deep cleaning work including scrubbing the stairwells, avenues, and dusting.
Spacesaver completed work on the 3rd floor swapping large panels. This has expanded the secure storage for SCARC in the space. Service was provided for other issues in the shelving.…

Recycling Updates
Routes
I walked the routes with John Deuel this morning to make sure the route was clear for the students since this is such a big building. Recycling has been working hard to hire and train students, so they can get back to a full service schedule. The Valley Library has two scheduled service routs each week. Beginning next term they will be as follows:
Mondays: Public spaces only.…

Telecom Updates
We've been doing a lot of work with Telecom over the past few weeks. With so many staffing changes since we shut down in March, 2020, it has taken some time to get everything updated. Part of the challenge was the departure of our previous Telecom coordinator mid-pandemic. We didn't have someone to ask onsite, and some documentation had been lost. No worries. We soldiered on and figured it out.
Directory Updates
The first step was to submit several directory updates.…

Roof
Though the big reroof has been delayed there is still action on top of the building. The Liebert quotes have been completed. This project is currently scheduled for late spring. ATT also did a contractor walkthrough with Rachel and campus planning to discuss staging for their project. Facilities has been in a few times to look at the leaks and assess the patching and mitigation needs. More information will be shared out as it comes to light.…

Quick Update
Roof Projects
Roof Replacement
Roof project has been delayed until Summer 2023. The intention was originally to complete this in Summer 2022 and though the project was out to bid campus is holding the project. There is still information coming in but it seems this change was due to a few reasons including the campus capital project budget, and overlap with multiple projects creating concerns.…
