Special Use Rooms
Many of the rooms in this category do not require active involvement. The room coordinator acts as the liaison between departments using these rooms and the library. Specific details for each room are listed below. Any maintenance needs will be taken care of by Valley Library upon request as we still own the rooms.
1559, 1561: DAS
Used by Disability Access Services (DAS). 2 fobs have been issued for each room.
- Valley Library maintains this lock which includes programming and battery replacement.
1563: Lactation room for the Childcare and Family Resources (CFS).
- AD-200 lock.
- Valley Library does not program this lock so it isn't in the SMS Express software.
- The CFS department is responsible for providing access to the room and changing the batteries in the lock.
- Our custodial services still clean the floor of the room.
- You can gain emergency access to this room with the building master key.
3564: Our Little Village
- Has an LE series lock programmed by the Room Coordinator
- Is reservable through LibCal; the key card is checked out at the Circulation desk.
- Uses a private url that is distributed by Childcare and Family Resources (CFS).
- CFS maintains the room and reports maintenance concerns to library maintenance.
5167: Faculty Office
- Used as an office by Cliff Mead, the former head of Special Collections.
- He has a fob that is not checked out in Alma.
- This arrangement is ongoing. He appreciates a warning if maintenance is happening nearby.
- Valley Library maintains this lock which includes programming and battery replacement.
6169, 6171, 6172: Grad Student Commons Writing Center Offices
- Used as offices for the Graduate Writing Center
- Graduate Writing Center Staff have their OSU ID cards programmed into the locks.
- They also have a set of fobs they manage that open all the doors in GSC except 6559.
- Valley Library maintains this lock which includes programming and battery replacement.
- Room maintenance is reported by the Graduate Writing Center directly to "library maintenance".
6559: Grad Students Commons Office for GTA
- Used as offices for the Grad Commons staff
- Grad Commons Staff have their OSU ID cards programmed into the locks.
- GSC also has a set of fobs they manage that open all the doors in GSC except 6169, 6171, and 6172.
- Valley Library maintains this lock which includes programming and battery replacement.
- Room maintenance is reported by Grad Commons directly to "library maintenance".
Small Classrooms used by other departments
- Rooms include:
- 1420: This space is used by SMS. They manage the lock for this room.
- 5420: Barnard Classroom. This classroom is used by SCARC and all staff in SCARC have credentials issued for this room.
- 6420, 6812, & 6822: Grad Commons. Key card maintenance is also required for these rooms since key cards are circulated by LEAD even though LEAD doesn't manage the calendars.
- Valley Library maintains this lock which includes programming and battery replacement for all of these rooms except 1420.
- Room maintenance is reported by the departments directly to "library maintenance".
