Critical Systems

Critical systems that merit a work order or contacting facilities if Spaces Unit is unavailable:

• HVAC

• Broken Doors

• Elevator failure

• Power outage
  
  

Placing a Work Order

• If Urgent, call 541-737-2969 to reach facilities dispatch during business hours (M-F 9-5) or if you want to check in for an update.

• For evenings/weekend the DPS line is available for urgent issues that may be causing active safety challenges or ongoing damage. Call the non-emergency line at 541-737-3010

• Go to https://my.facilities.oregonstate.edu/ (Log in with ONID)

• Along left panel navigate to New Request and fill out the form

  1. Put library.maintenance@oregonstate.edu as the contact email or secondary contact notification. 

  2. Index: DLB275, activity code: DMNT

  3. Building 0036 - The Valley Library

  4. Room/Location - Room number from the floorplans

  5. Additional description within that room (stall, area of the space)

  6. Issue Description - Detail the problem in full, outlining the challenge and urgency.

  7. Date - If urgent mark first available date.

  8. You can check the box at the end to request others be notified if you would like to receive specific updates. These do not always happen in a timely fashion. 

• You may not hear direct confirmation that they are coming or that the work is completed.

Critical Supplies

Water mitigation supplies such as plastic draping, water absorbing socks, and wet floor signs are located in large red totes in the following locations:

• 2nd floor: near the book drop behind the Borrowing and Information desk

• 3rd floor: in the Mat Prep room (room 3711)

• 4th floor: in the copier/printer room on the counter (room 4661)

Custodial Requests

If there is an urgent mess or custodial support need:

They can email and call to make sure it is taken care of. This works during business hours or evenings/weekends.

In the event of a critical emergency or disaster it is appropriate to contact the Library Dean, Building Manager, bring in the LAMP team, and activate the Emergency Operations Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.
