Headlines
The LibCal system is set up for launch Monday, Week 1. This will be a new way of offering study room service to our users and is also internally used for hourly and daily hoteling spaces for library employees. (Lucinda)

The Meet and Study here section of the website has been updated to reflect changes in library spaces, classrooms, partner spaces, and study rooms. (Lucinda)

If you are looking for Partner Information you can check out the new partners wiki page in the Library Spaces wiki. It is updated regularly with useful internal information, contacts, and links.

The Spaces Unit has been working over capacity for the last couple of months in getting the building ready for reopening and supporting both services and partners resets. Please be patient and aware that we are prioritizing projects that support students, services, and essential repairs for the next few weeks. There is still quite a lag time for facilities requests due to overload and their move. Though work orders may be placed, the response time is varied.

Rachel will be representing the Valley Library on the new Arts and Education Complex Leadership Council

Projects

Lucinda successfully set up the system for LibCal in preparation for Study Room use with the start of term, worked with Erin on the Meet and Study section of the website, and has been fielding many access requests from within the library and from partners

Pallet racks are going up at the Research Way Building for the Press inventory. There is a large amount of steel surplus shelving in the space that will need removed. The work counter was installed in the storage space and the scanner room has both electrical and lighting. By the end of this year the goal is to have SCARCs storage room completed.

The LED lighting install on the main floor is over halfway complete, the fourth floor target is to complete the work before the end of October. This work will mean there are electricians replacing the ballasts in some public spaces on 2nd and 4th. Work in the office areas of the fourth floor will begin in the library section and move into ecampus last.

The roof projects are currently still in process. The roof design is completed and they are working to ensure that the cell antennae project is compatible with the design. Current project start is looking like Spring 2022.

Lock Replacement is well underway. The first new lock was installed for Our Little Village on the 3rd floor and Lucinda is working with the procedure for programming and access for that space.

Signage updates
are happening throughout the library. Including the old catalog alcove signs, the library administration/ecampus sign on 4th and a few others. In addition the purple and green library directories located in stairwells and elevator lobbies are being worked on for replacement.

Planning

Rachel met with Elizabeth and Tiah to plan SCARC storage projects at RWB and at Valley.
