If you would like to take advantage of these classes through your department, the OSULP Safety Committee Council would like you to follow the process below so that we may maintain a current list of First Aid / CPR-AED certified staff. Once certified, your name will be added to the Certified Staff list on our library wiki site. This will allow other library building staff to know who is currently certified.

  1. Go to the Dixon Recreation web site and search for the course(s) and a time you can attend or if you would like to take the online course. If the online course you will need to schedule a Skills Check class with 60 days of course completion. If you know others who would like to attend in your dept. you can do this as a group.
  2. Send an email to your supervisor and dept. head requesting to attend the training. Include: 
    1. Your name
    2. Your email
    3. Name of course(s)
    4. Date of course(s) or online
  3. After approval your dept. head will send an email to safety.programs@oregonstate.edu with:
    1. Participant names
    2. Participant emails
    3. Name of course(s)
    4. Date of course(s) or online
    5. Index to charge
  4. Dept. head will receive a confirmation email which they will share with the participants. Participants for in-person classes will not be officially registered but trainers will have them on their attendee’s list. All they need is to show up for the course(s).
  5. Attend the in-person course(s) or complete the online courses and attend the Skills Check class within 60 days. 
  6. Once completed, inform the Valley OSULP Safety Committee Council chair who will then add your name to the library's list of certified staff and faculty.
