Rooms are showing unavailable when they should be available
So many, many reasons this happens. Here are a list of the most common reasons a room may show as unavailable:
- Are you on today's date? If you are on a day in the past, then you can't reserve a room.
- Is the date you are looking at a holiday? If the library is closed, the rooms will be unavailable.
- Is it a break between terms? The library is closed weekends during Winter Break and Fall Intersession.
- Is the room undergoing maintenance? The room coordinator may have closed the room. Check the Circulation blog or ask a staff member.
- Is it summer term? 5th floor rooms cannot be reserved in advance in the summer because we unlock the rooms.
The library closed unexpectedly
Open room pulls its hours from Alma. If the library closes suddenly and those new hours are entered in Alma, it may cause the two programs to get out of sync. Usually Open Room will show the rooms as unavailable only the day of the unexpected closure. The easiest fix it to add an "open 24 hours" line for all the rooms for that day.
- Go into the Admin Panel
- Click on the "Hours" button on the left
- Set the rooms as follows:
