- You are going to need a Philips head screwdriver or a drill and the programming credential. You will also need to program the lock as well, so bring the HHD and the serial port autosync cable.
- If you are unable to operate the lock at all, check out the master key from Circulation's locked closet to obtain access to room.
- Unscrew back panel
- There are two small white buttons on the circuit board inside:
- To reset the lock to factory settings:
- Press the clear button 3 times. The red light should come on for about 10 seconds. Wait until the light turns back off.
- This resets the lock to the default access code. You will find this code at the back of the hard copy of the room coordinator manual.
- Test this code to see if the door responds.
- If it does, proceed to preparing the lock for re-programming.
- If it does not, repeat the previous steps and try again.
- If it still does not work after a 3rd time, either the button battery is dead (which requires a locksmith) or the lock may have completely failed and needs to be replaced.
- The next step is to essentially create a programming credential for the lock.
- Press the re-program button 3 times.
- Hold the programming credential in front of the lock until you see the green and red lights flash.
- Press the re-program button 1 time
- Wait 10 seconds for the process to complete.
- Test the lock by presenting the programming credential again. The lights should flash red and green alternately. This means the lock recognizes the programming credential.
- Re-program the lock:
- Open the SMS Utility Software on the HHD and login. You should have a file on here for programming the lock. If you haven't done this, you will need to go back to the computer and create a file.
- Connect the HHD to the lock with the serial autosync cable.
- The HHD will tell you this is a new lock. It will ask you to select which door this is from the list of doors waiting to be programmed on the HHD.
- Select the name of the lock. Double check to make sure you have selected the correct door.
- Follow the prompts on the HHD and program the lock as you normally would. Refer to Programming Electronic Locks for reference if needed.
- When finished, disconnect the HHD and test door with pin/cards
- Once finished, re-attach back plate, being careful to make sure the spring is properly attached to the peg in the lock.
AD-200 locks
AD-200 locks are installed on the following doors:
- Circulation locked closet
- 2011–LEAD
- 2035–SMS
To completely reset the newer locks, you need to do a Level 2 reset. This basically means you go through all the reset steps twice.
For the AD-200 locks, you will need:
- HHD with program files on it
- USB port autosync cable
- A Philips head screwdriver or drill to remove the back.
Reset the lock to factory settings:
- Open the door and remove the upper part of the back panel.
- Inside you should see one large white button. Press and hold the button until you hear 2 beeps. It takes about 10 seconds.
- Release the button.
