Library Plaza Project Summary
Outdoor library plaza is very visible, high traffic, and underutilized space.
Historically the low walls surrounding the plaza edge are used as casual seating and meeting space.
To support this use the library is creating seating in the plaza space adjacent to the low wall on the plaza’s north end. It will be an expansion of exterior library space that students love and use!
Covered and Uncovered Tables
Variety Landscape Forms structures are the standard for campus, and black as with the other outdoor furniture on campus. Variety of options including covered, uncovered, and different seat and table styles were selected. Many of the structure also have an open slot for ease of access for rolling up to the structure.

Project structures and placement were reviewed and approved by Historical Review Committee
Student input from library students at service desks was taken into account for final selections.
Depending on the lead time of orders, install could be complete in fall of 2022!
Furniture arrived by the end of November 2022 and facilities installed it in the following weeks.
Usage has been increasing since March/Spring - response has been very positive.
Consideration of adding additional tables is possible.
