Automatically Unlocking Doors for Summer Term
The 5th floor study rooms may be the most feasible floor for the summer unlock due to its not having any media technology in any of the rooms.
Instructions:
- Inform the Circulation Supervisor of your decision to unlock the study rooms on the designated floor.
- Make sure the rooms on the selected floor have no bookings. Take them out of circulation by making them “Not Available” and suppress the records by selecting “NOT ORBIS/SUPP”. Pull keys from drawer and store them at the study room coordinator’s desk.
- In Locknetics, follow the instructions below for programming the doors to be unlocked.

Locks can be programmed to automatically lock and unlock on a schedule. Currently we assign schedules to the following locks:
- Summer term the 5th floor study rooms are programmed to unlock for the day during open hours .
- The 3rd floor staff lounge (3779) and RAS/TED/Press Spaces (3730) have unlock schedules which are different for each of the 3 doors.

Make sure that the "Use First Person In For AutoUnlock Schedules"

option is not checked. Having this option selected means that the door will not automatically unlock at the specified time. Someone would have to present credentials to open the door when the library opens and then the door would remain unlocked. The default option is to have this option turned on. To turn it off, go to the main window and click the "Settings" menu to get to "Program Settings." Click the "Time Defaults" tab and uncheck the "Enable 'First Person In' by default." Click the "AutoUnlocks" tabs.
