Automatically Unlocking Doors for Summer Term

The 5th floor study rooms may be the most feasible floor for the summer unlock due to its not having any media technology in any of the rooms.

Instructions:

  • Inform the Circulation Supervisor of your decision to unlock the study rooms on the designated floor.
  • Make sure the rooms on the selected floor have no bookings. Take them out of circulation by making them “Not Available” and suppress the records by selecting “NOT ORBIS/SUPP”. Pull keys from drawer and store them at the study room coordinator’s desk.
  • In Locknetics, follow the instructions below for programming the doors to be unlocked.

The Locknetics locks can be programmed so that the doors unlock at a certain time and relock at a certain time.

1. On the main Locklink screen press the "SmarTime (SMT)" button.

2. This will bring up the SmarTime Functions window. Press the "Door Autolocks" tab.




3. First press the new button at the bottom of the window. In the "Name" field enter a name for the new automatic unlock parameters. In the date boxes check the day of the week that you want the doors to automatically unlock. Finally in the "Start Time" field enter the time that you want the doors to unlock. In the "End Time" field enter the time that you want the doors to relock.

4. Press "save" and exit back to the main Locklink screen

5. Press the "Doors" option.

6. Highlight the door that you wish to add automatic unlock to and push the "Edit" button




7. Make sure that the "Use First Person In For AutoUnlock Schedules" box is not checked. Click the "AutoUnlocks" tabs.

8.  Highlight the name of unlock parameters that you wish to use (this is what we created steps 2 – 4)





9. Push the "Assign" button. Push "Save."
10. Repeat for every door that you want to assign automatic unlock too. Exit when finished.
