Re-setting a lock to factory settings:
If the door fails to recognize codes/cards, use the following instructions to reset and reprogram the lock. This failure can be distinguished from dead batteries by the fact that the red light will flash each time a number pad is pushed but fails to allow access. When the batteries are dead, no lights will flash.
- Use master key to obtain access to room
- Unscrew back panel
- There are two small white buttons on the circuit board inside:
- To reset the lock to factory settings:
- Press the clear button 3 times
- At this point the only usable access code is: 13579
- Test this code to see if the door is now responding.
- If it is, proceed to program in the re-programming card.
- To prepare the lock for re-programming:
- Press the re-program button 3 times.
- Wave the re-programming card in front of the card reader as you would to open the door.
- Press the re-program button 1 time
- Wait 10 seconds for the process to complete.
- Test the card by again waving it in front of the card reader; it should now flash both the red and green lights alternately.
- To re-program the lock:
- Gather the necessary tools to re-program locks
- Palm-pilot
- CIP lock reader
- Connector cable
- Re-programming card
- Connect palm-pilot to door with the CIP lock reader.
- Select program lock by selecting name
- It will not be able to be programmed via the retrieving name feature until after initial programming.
