The classrooms of Valley Library are used exclusively for University business and are intended to support academic success, intellectual freedom and free speech. For more details regarding building space use, please refer to the Valley Library Building Use policy.  Classrooms vary by size, technology, who is allowed to reserve a specific classroom and even the procedure for reserving a classroom. They are generally available on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

There are 6 classrooms in Valley Library; this page will outline usage guidelines, physical space specifications, and management responsibilities for each room.

2nd Floor Classrooms

Autzen (Rm. 2082)

Usage Guidelines

  • Purpose: University Business. Priority given to instruction.
  • User Groups:
    • First 2 weeks: Library Only, Priority given to instruction & TED.
    • Week 7 & Beyond: Faculty, Staff, Graduate Students
  • Reservation Hours: 7:30 am - 11:30 pm
  • Reservation Exceptions:
    • Unlimited reservation for Library staff, URWS staff all term.
    • 1 reservation per term for outside departments week 7 & beyond.
  • Reservation Lead Time: 1-2 weeks. Library staff have 2 business days to respond to requests.
  • Food Policy: No food, except library staff.
  • Ongoing Physical Access: Doors are unlocked at all times.

    • Several whiteboards w/ markers and erasers
    • Instructor station
    • 24 student workstations
    • 6 large screens
    • 6 Projectors (ceiling mount)

2nd Floor West (2024)

Usage Guidelines

  • Purpose: University Business
  • User Groups:
    • Library Only, Priority given to instruction & TED.
  • Reservation Hours:
  • Reservation Limitations:
    • Open to informal use when not reserved.
  • Reservation Lead Time: 1-2 weeks. Library staff have 2 business days to respond to requests.
  • Food Policy: Allowed
  • Ongoing Physical Access: Doors are unlocked at all times.
  • One-time Physical Access: Physical key currently stored in the Circulation locked closet.

  • Equipment & Hardware:
    • Zoom enabled
    • Wireless Connection
    • Instructor station
    • 12 tables
    • 6 Presentation Carts
    • Mounted screen and projector

3rd Floor Classrooms

Willamette Seminar Rooms (3622)

The East and West Willamette rooms are connected by a soundproof, retractable wall and are available for use separately or together.

  • OSU faculty and staff may reserve the classroom once per term for university business.
  • Each side 8 tables, at least 29 chairs (cannot all fit at tables), a wireless connection, and is set up for projection and sound.

Usage Guidelines

  • Purpose: University Business
  • User Groups:
    • OSU Faculty, Staff, & Student Groups
  • Reservation Hours: 7:30 am - 11:30 pm
  • Reservation Limitations:
    • Unlimited for Library staff, Ecampus, & URWS.
  • Reservation Lead Time: 1-2 weeks. Library staff have 2 business days to respond to requests.
  • Food Policy: Allowed
  • Ongoing Physical Access: LEAD, TED, Master Key holders.
  • One-time Physical Access: Key card and room divider crank checked out at the Circulation desk.

  • Seating: 25-30 per side
  • Equipment & Hardware:
    • Zoom enabled
    • Wireless Connection
    • Instructor station
    • 8 tables per side
    • 29 chairs per side
    • Mounted screen and projector
