Safety Committee Minutes April 16, 2018

Agenda:

1. Active Shooter Training
2. First Aid Kits

1. Active Shooter Response
   1. Don shared the LAMP discussion on Active Shooter Response. (LAMP Minutes)
   2. Faye will be meeting with OSU Director of Public Safety Suzanne Tannenbaum about a presentation at this month's Admin Briefing and concerns regarding Active Shooter situations and a building audit.
   3. LAMP would like the Safety Committee to compile questions and concerns and find answers presented in a plan by the end of the academic year. Also recommend to share the Active Shooter Response video at our annual Admin Briefing presentation (Aug/Sept).
   4. Committee Plan
      1. Bryan will create a document in Box to collect questions/concerns. Don will transfer what he has at this time.
      2. Members will ask their dept. staff for input. Bryan will contact departments not represented on the committee (Media Services, Undergrad Research and Writing Center, ETS, Java II, OSU Press). Members can add responses to the Box document before May 7.
      3. Next meeting May 7: will discuss responses and how to proceed with obtaining answers. Most likely inquire with Campus Safety and OSP.
      4. After obtaining answers formulate plan to present to LAMP by June 15th.
2. First Aid Kits
   1. Committee discussed how we can help departments improve and maintain their first aid kits.
   2. Don will speak to LAMP about this issue.
   3. Suggestions include
      1. Link to Safety wiki page from all dept. main pages.
      2. Recommend each dept./work area have an assigned Safety point person
      3. Executive Assistant should remind LAMP of this issue annually
      4. Improve First Aid Kit wiki page and suggest first aid kits to purchase and what each kit should contain. Add reminders. Bryan will do. Phillip will share their recent purchase of kits.
