The reinstated mask requirements limit the ability to take mask breaks, do zoom meetings without a face covering, or even to eat meals. Library staff, building partners, and the public are all returning to the building, increasing our occupancy, creating a pressing need for safer spaces. We now have rooms which give library employees access to spaces where masks are not required according to the campus guidelines.
Rooms can be reserved by the hour or for an entire day to be used as work spaces and break areas. We are using LibCal as our reservation system, the same system used by students to reserve study rooms. The goal is to make this as easy as possible for staff to reserve spaces as needed.
How it works:
Reservations can be made
- in advance
- the same day
- right before you need the room
Multiple reservations can be made
- during the same day
- in advance
We have broken the spaces into three categories
- Semi-Permanent Offices for those who will be working onsite daily. These will not be listed in LibCal.
- Offices for a day
- Hourly rooms for breaks, Zoom meetings, quiet work time, etc.

Making advanced reservations
Note: Please bookmark the links below. They are private links which means they are not searchable.
- Click one of the links below to take you to either the hourly or daily rooms. Here you will find a grid showing availability of all the rooms in that category.
- Click on the room number to get details about that room including photos, amenities, and availability.
- Click the grid for the room you wish to reserve for the desired time frame and follow the instructions onscreen.
- You will need to login to your ONID account. When finished, you should get a confirmation email. No email means no reservation.
Immediate Reservations
- If you have a need with short notice, you can still use the links above.
- We also have signage on each door with a unique QR code and shortened url. Scan the code and you will see the availability of that room. From there you can make a reservation.
Safety Measures
- We have built in a 30 minute buffer between reservations for the hourly rooms.
- Daily rooms only allow one reservation per day.
- Please close the door while using the room and open the door when you leave.
