Java II

  • Located on 1st floor. Accessed either by stairway from main entrance, or separate entrance below.
  • Erin Carter is the manager for Java and two other locations on campus. She is onsite limited hours.

Media Hub formerly SMS

  • Located on the 2nd floor next to LEAD. Room 2035.
  • Primary staff contacts are Teresa Preddy and Leo Prince-Brooks.
  • SMS changed the name fall 2022 to Media Hub which supports both student and faculty with the same services.

Undergrad Research & Writing Studio (URWS)

  • Located on the 2nd floor, next to the Learning Commons.
  • Full-time staff members are Chris Ervin, Marjorie Coffey, Chessie Alberti.
  • Training and orientation will be week 1 and official open is week 2.
  • They are offering onsite consultations and online.
  • They will not be open Saturdays during term.

    Fall 2023 Schedule starting Week 2

    Mon – Thursday              10 am – 6 pm

    Friday                               10 am – 4 pm

Mole Hole

  • Located on the 3rd floor by maps. Onsite staff are GTAs who rotate frequently. Margie Haak is the partner contact in the Chemistry department.
  • Student tutor training will begin week 1. 
  • Hours have been M-Th 11a-10p, F 11a-3p, Sunday 3p-10p. Their schedule is available on the site linked above.
  • This fall they will offer services including Supplemental Instruction for 100 and 200 level courses, Organic Chemistry, General, and P-Chem tutoring will be offered.

Family Study Room and Family Services

  • Located on the 3rd floor next to RAS and the restrooms. Kristi King is the primary staff contact.
  • Drop in childcare will not be offered.
  • The room will be offered for check out as a study room for parents with children.
  • The lactation room on the first floor is also available.

Ecampus

  • Located on the 4th floor but have little direct contact with the public.
  • Employees are currently in the building primarily Tuesdays and Thursdays. 
  • They are practicing a hybrid model for employees for remote work.
  • The reception desk will be open and staffed during business hours.

Graduate Writing Center (GWC)

  • The GWC will officially open week 2 and offer a hybrid of remote and onsite consultation.
  • To learn more about the graduate writing center and their services check their site.
  • Full time staff are located in rooms 6171, 6172 and 6169. Chris Nelson, Dennis Bennett, and Adam Haley.

Graduate Student Commons (GSC)

  • Research Rooms will be used starting September 21.
  • There will be a graduate student on 6th in room 6159 to support their services.
    • Joe Page Mondays 12-2p and Tuesdays 1:30-3:30p
  • The Bernie and Bernice rooms will also be available for use.
  • The Paddletail Classroom (6420) will be used by GSC and GWC fall term.
  • These rooms are only for use by grad students or programs serving grad students.
