Individual or Group Training (Anytime)

Dixon Recreation Center offers First Aid / CPR Training throughout the year, either as a group or individual, in-person or online with a demonstration class. If you would like to take advantage of these classes through your department, the Safety Committee would like you to follow the process below so that we may maintain a current list of First Aid / CPR-AED certified staff. Once certified, your name will be added to the Certified Staff list on our library intranet page. This will allow other library building staff to know who is currently certified.

Procedure for Individual Training:

  1. Go to the Dixon Recreation web site and search for the course(s) and a time you can attend. If you know others who would like to attend in your dept. you can do this as a group.
  2. Send an email to your supervisor and dept. head requesting to attend the training. Include: 
    1. Your name
    2. Your email
    3. Name of course(s)
    4. Date of course(s)
  3. After approval your dept. head will send an email to safety.programs@oregonstate.edu with:
    1. Attendee names
    2. Attendee emails
    3. Name of course(s)
    4. Date of course(s)
    5. Index to charge
  4. Dept. head will receive a confirmation email which they will share with the attendees.
  5. Attend the course(s) and once completed, inform the Valley Safety Committee chair who will then add your name to the library's list of certified staff and faculty.

Group Training:

Privately scheduled group classes can be scheduled for OSU departments at a much lower rate. Group classes require registration at least 2 weeks in advance and at least 6 participants, but are scheduled at your convenience. Additionally, these courses can be taken online with a demonstration class, which reduces the total class time by at least half. Groups of 15 or more receive a $5 per-person discount. Pricing (per person):

  • Adult and Child CPR/AED $40 ($35 group 15+ people)
  • Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED $55 ($50 group 15+ people)
  • First Aid $50 ($45 group 15+ people)
  • Basic Life Support $50 ($45 group 15+ people)
