Flashlights

The Valley Library does have an emergency generator which will power during an outage for emergency and exit lighting and orange power outlets. The HVAC system and elevators will shut down.

• Make sure flashlights or battery-operated light sources are readily available and that all employees know where they are located. 
• Use quality flashlights like a Maglite. Flashlights are purchased by each department.
• Personnel working in windowless areas should have access to flashlights at all times.
• Batteries should be replaced every year and test that the flashlight is working correctly.
• Remember, you can use your smart phone as a flashlight if needed.
