Maps, Wormhole/Mole Hole 2024
Team:
Rachel Burgess, Brad Engelbert, Diana Park, Laura Ramos
Fred DeAngelis (physics), Margie Haak (chem)
Objectives:
1. Create some space to absorb the Wormhole (capacity of 30) and relieve crowding in the Mole Hole.
2. Shared understanding between the units involved on the services in the space, create preliminary agreement between the units in the college of science and the library.
3. Pilot overlapping tutoring space.
4. After completion of this project, assess use of the space and use in consideration for future planning.
5. Pull together a committee in late 2024 for larger scale project of rethinking maps/tutoring spaces on the 3rd floor.
Timeline:
February 2024 is inquiry from Wormhole regarding a tour of the space followed immediate by an ask to allow move in. (Fred DeAngelis, Rachel Burgess, Diana Park)
Late February 2024 meeting with chem and physics stakeholders to come to an agreement (Margie Haak, Fred DeAngelis, Rachel Burgess)
Late February 2024 Initial inquiry with Jane Nichols, Brad Engelbert, and Laura Ramos regarding the possibility of move/compression of maps.
March ongoing work fine tuning the layout of maps compression.
April Layout confirmed with Laura/Brad and Spacesaver asked to schedule move.
May Rachel meets with chem and physics to confirm followed by meeting with Brad/Laura regarding move logistics and planning.
