Quick Update!
It is the start of winter term! Happy 2022!
Over Break
Over break, the spaces unit and crew spent time resetting furniture throughout the building. Also, ABM did some deep cleaning work including scrubbing the stairwells, avenues, and dusting.
Spacesaver completed work on the 3rd floor swapping large panels. This has expanded the secure storage for SCARC in the space. Service was provided for other issues in the shelving.
The press items moved into place in offsite storage and the new shelving for the SCARC room arrived.
The offices on 3rd and 4th, moves and adjustments were made and the hoteling offices will be migrating to hourly block reservations.
Water Fountains
Bottle Water Fountain was installed across from Java, third is next. The rest in the building are still in progress!
Art Cleaning
We got a good start on the art cleaning project. Robin Weis (TED), and Stefanie Hood (Lead) are pitching in to help with this project. After the cleaning the art rotation is scheduled for Summer 2022. Rachel is working on mapping this out.
SI Tables
Conversations over winter break pulled in LEAD, TED, and Spaces to fill the need for SI tables in the library. For now a pilot is being discussed using the Autzen classroom tables. At the end of winter/spring term further discussions will be held for future possibilities. Uta is the point person for this project.
GovDocs
The gov docs are moving to 1st compact with the hard work of Laura Ramos and her team. Spaces is supporting with signage and surplus coordination for shelving. The shelving will start to come down in sections as the collection shifts downstairs. Once the shelves are down and the space cleared, study tables and furniture will be placed to allow for open study.
