Agenda
- Welcomed Zac Laugheed and Philip Sites to their first Safety Committee meeting
- Library Infestation Policy & Procedures
- A committee was formed to create a policy and procedure draft regarding infestations in the library
- Library had a recent incident with bed bugs
- Committee members are Bryan Feyerherm, Zac Laugheed, Karl McCreary and Patrick Layton
- Draft deadline is June 1 and will be shared with the Safety Committee for review as well as LAMP
- Policy location will be in the Disaster Recovery Plan
- Safety Kiosk Posters
- Library graphic design student Estefania Arellana created 6 safety-oriented kiosk slides for the library
- Slide topics include hand sanitizer, emergency phones, fire alarms pulls, emergency exits, OSU Alert system, bicycle safety
- Committee would like to display one a month during the year and all six during safety week
- Bryan will work with Kelly Holcomb to begin displaying them
- Anti-Theft Posters
- A patron complained that some of our current anti-theft posters had graphics that could offend others
- Library admin decided to remove them and create more generic anti-theft posters
- Bryan has begun the process of working with library graphics to design them and will share with committee for review
- Dan will also begin informing patrons of library theft activity on the library websites news section
- Safety Week 2016
- Committee believes Safety Week activities should still be scheduled in September during the fall intersession
