10 Min.Safety Week Post AnalysisAll

What did we like and what would we like to aim for next year?

  • Erin loved the sense of humor associated with the emails
  • Karl is distributing the last of the prizes. We were given 9 play lists.
  • The emails were a team effort.
    • Pulled from former safety emails for reference
    • Tried to limit the number of links, keep the information direct and simple
  • Start planning this year for next year such as
    • Stockpile safety posters attached to the monthly preparedness updates
    • Appeal of safety week is likely prizes
    • Probably want some content to be library-specific
    • Scavenger hunt next year? Anagrams? Coloring contest? (Color me safe!)
    • Start planning in the summer for Safety week.
    • Should get first aid training scheduled next time.
10 Min.Emergency Operations Plan Discussion    All
  • Need to make adjustments to Library-specific information, titles, contacts.
  • Located in Box folder (link at the bottom of the agenda)
  • Due by February
  • Make comments. No need to edit information at this time.
  • Will need to take to LAMP for approval, end of January, early February.
  • May want to schedule a work session for doing this.
  • Disaster recovery plan will be next.
    • Will take more time and input, with folks from multiple departments. Likely a subcommittee. Not necessarily the charge of this group entirely.
5 min. Other Matters Arising    All
  • 3 OSU students jumped a trans woman at 7-11 on Monroe and severely injured her.
  • Not being talked about much
  • Sagan directed a couple students who asked about it to talk to AMD and Alex Gittelman.
  • The Council is wondering what or if we can do anything
  • Agreed we need to get more information about what/if is currently being done. The concern is to make sure all of our students feel safe here.
  • What organizations can we reach out to? How do we provide support to our students?
