2016-08-10 Meeting Notes

Agenda:

  1. Admin Briefing Presentation
    1. Elizabeth, Ed and Philip will do the safety presention for the Library Admin Briefing Aug. 11
    2. The presentation will inlcude a safety game with prizes and will cover a general thank you, safety week information and general safety info
  2. Safety Week Sept. 12-16
    1. First Aid/CPR Training
      1. will occur Sept 13 (first aid) and 14 (CPR/AED) from 1-5 pm in Willamette West. 
      2. Bryan will send out a general announcement on Monday
    2. Evacuation Drill
      1. A time was chosen for the annual building evacuation drill during the week of Sept. 26-30.
      2. The exact day and time will be unannounced but Don will notify LAMP of when it will occur.
      3. Bryan will contact Alarms (Facilities) and Jim Patton
      4. Bryan will update the evacuation assembly area map.
  3. Anti-theft Posters and Bookmarks
    1. Zac introduced the new anti-theft posters. The plan is to display them at various times during the year so patrons are less likely to ignore.
    2. Bryan will check on the bookmarks order (same design). Plan is to use them to set on belongings that have been left unattended.
  4. OSU Disaster Exercise Response
    1. Victoria shared that to participate in the OSU campus disaster excercise on Oct. 30 as a controller/evaluator requires Incident Command Training (Don and Bryan have had this). But you can still volunteer to be a disaster victim if interested.
    2. Victoria shared the email with more info.
  5. Campus Safety Walk
    1. Zac is currenlty representing the library on the University Health and Safety Committee.
    2. HIs first task is to conduct the annual campus safety walk where members volunteer to walk an area of campus and note any safety hazards for Facilities
    3. Zac will invite all Valley safety members to join him sometime next week. The committee has done this several times in the past.
    4. Zac will also arrange to check lighting in the area when dark.
  6. Disaster Recovery Plan Update
    1. members are working on completing the updated and revised library Disaster Recovery Plan
    2. more work needs to be done tying the plan to campus, local and state plans. Bryan will follow up with Mike Bamberger.
    3. Don is helping with the finance section of the plan.
