Present: Don Frier, Rachel Ziegler, Elizabeth Thomas, Dan Moret, Bryan Feyerherm

Agenda: 

  1. Building Threat Evacuation Review
    1. Discussed issues pertaining to the evacuation of the library building due to a written threat on June 4 including staff survey feedback.
    2. Bryan will create a draft of recommendations of policies & procedures for LAMP including
      1. Event notifications to staff including a text message/email tree and amount of detail. Who is responsible, where decisions are originating, actions and follow up. Need to know.
        1. Don will review the Remind app recommended by Rachel
      2. Moving people out of the library quad and away from the building
      3. Door monitor responsibilities and improved radios
      4. Areas where staff/student employees can gather
      5. Creating an building evacuation flow chart that can be used with any situation. Revising current evacuation procedures to include threat situations.
        1. Rachel & Bryan will create a draft for a flow chart
  2. Summer Evacuation Drill
    1. Rachel recommended a building evacuation drill in late July/early August after Ecampus has moved back into the building. Staff need to be familiar with their new surroundings and emergency exits.
    2. Will plan an evacuation drill around this time and decide when we should have an academic term evacuation drill. 
    3. Committee member volunteers will monitor inside and outside the building.
  3. University Safety Walk
    1. Rachel will coordinate a campus safety walk after next weeks UHSC meeting.
  4. Summer Projects
    1. Sept. Safety Week is planned for week of Sept. 16.
    2. Disaster Recovery Plan review and finalization and Safety Wiki site review. 
      1. Bryan will send out sections needing updating for members to review
    3. Library Safety Essentials Online Training for Employees
      1. Don, Elizabeth and Bryan will meet in July to begin drafting a training program.
      2. Don will create the program using Bridge.
